- Wow - what a great weekend. Where to begin? First of all
we would like to thank our coaches so far this season for
all of their hard work and dedication which have allowed
our team to advance so far. We would like to thank Jessica
for helping out with the team during the first two matches
and taking some great photos. We also want to thank Zabrina
for video taping both games, so we can see how good we are
or how much work we need.

- Game 1
- The game started off quick with Charleston scoring a try
early in the game with a chip kick to the back corner of
the try zone. WRC was able to rebound quickly putting the
next score on the board. A lack of concentration during
the first half, found Charleston scoring another 7 points,
but WRC was able to capitalize on some shifty running, great
passes and some hard determination to find WRC up 31-12
at half time.
-
- The whole game saw Compton stealing Charleston's ball
just about every lineout. Charleston even switched to a
2-man lineout in the second half, that didn't help their
cause at all as WRC readjusted and continued spoiling their
lineouts. This was a huge advantage WRC had throughout the
game in keeping possession of the ball.

- Game 2
- The second day had WRC meeting a big Riverside team early
on Sunday morning. It was yet another hot morning in Southern
Texas. WRC was able to control the ball throughout the game
by tackling low and maintainng the ball within the forwards.
Some jitters early on had WRC nearly missing 3 tries in
the first 20 minutes of the game. Sprinkles was able to
punch the first try through by some shifty running and passing
in the backline. Martell followed up Sprinkles score with
2 penalty kicks in the first half. WRC continued to put
pressure on the Riverside team with strong runs by Tyson
and the centers. There was a lack of focus mid-way through
the second half that allowed Riverside to score between
the posts. WRC was able to recover and finished off Riverside
witih another penalty kick by Martell and 2 more tries.
